Tortuguero is a navigable network of lakes and canals that crosse the
National Park from Southeast to the Northwest. This allows a great diversity
of fauna and flora of the region to be seen at close hand. Activities
include day excursions to Tortuguero National Park, visit to the town
and Caribbean Corporation of Conservation (CCC). During season (July-September)
night tours to search for the nesting of the Green Turtle (Chelonia
Mydas) are available.
Tortuguero requires an overnight stay of at least one night. Tortuguero
is not accessable by car, only by flight or boat.
